Leading up to 2020, I started painting again in a sketchbook with inexpensive acrylics I had purchased for my kids’ crafts. Nightly, I’d sit on the couch and watch a show like Killing Eve or Stranger Things, and paint a landscape scenes or animals, pushing to see what I could create in an hour or so. My goal was to paint every night as I reconnected to my inner artist.

Then in the global experience of March 2020, I too went from daily life in a corporate office to Zoom meetings and Microsoft Teams communication. It was during this time that my first flower doodles started to adorn post-it notes and in the margins of notepads. Swirling, comforting flowers with soothing formed dots as their centers. It wasn’t long before I started painting them and sharing them on social. Sassy statements seeped into my pieces expressing my current state of mind in a wobbly world. Then a follower stated my art would look good on dishware.

With much research and practice on objects around the house, I made the leap to ordering some new art surfaces. Now , I have cases of drinkware to capture my inspiration and creativity. Still late at night. Still on the couch. Still watching a show.
